Description:

Water is a critical nutrient for dairy cow. The total body weight of dairy cattle is 56 to 81% water, and water is the main component of milk. Therefore, dairy cattle have a substantial daily needs for water. Free water intake are important for Dairy cattle. They can obtain the greatest proportion of their water requirement from free water intake. On average, a dairy cow will consume 25 gallons of water each day. Clearly, providing dairy cattle an adequate supply of water is important.
